What to Expect
Order placed — what happens next? Here's the full picture: timeline, what we need from you, how long the install takes, and what we walk you through before we leave.
The timeline: typically 4–6 weeks
Once you've confirmed your order and paid a deposit, here's what the journey looks like:
Week 1–2 — Equipment ordering and preparation. We place the equipment order and schedule your installation slot. We'll confirm a date within a few days of your deposit clearing. Lead times vary slightly depending on component availability, but the typical window from order to install is 4–6 weeks.
Week 2–5 — Room preparation (your side). This is where you do a small amount of work — mostly confirming the room is ready. We'll send you a short checklist: access cleared, flooring substrate in place if you're doing a new build, power socket in position, that sort of thing. Nothing major in most cases.
Install day (or day two, for larger builds). Our team arrives, installs everything, and tidies up. For a standard single-bay setup, the on-site work typically takes one to two days. Larger or more complex builds (a full room fit-out with bespoke enclosure, dedicated lighting, and room finishing) may take a day or two more — we'll tell you upfront.
That's it. No multi-week building project, no months of disruption.
Your checklist — it's short
We try to keep what we need from customers as simple as possible. Before install day, here's the typical list:
Clear access to the room — enough space for equipment to be carried in without manoeuvring around stored furniture
A power socket in the right area — we'll confirm the position at design stage; a standard 13A socket is fine for most setups
The floor surface ready — if you're using the existing floor (common in garages and spare rooms), nothing to do; if you're laying new flooring as part of the build, it should be done before we arrive
Confirm ceiling height and width — we'll have taken these at consultation stage, but a final confirmation avoids surprises
Pets secured on install day — a practical one, but worth saying
If the room is a new build (garden room or extension), your builder should sign off their work before we arrive. We'll let you know what a simulator-ready room looks like — see room design for the specifics.
What happens on the day
Our team arrives with everything on the van. We install the enclosure and screen, mount the projector (using a UNICOL ceiling mount, pre-drilled and fixed properly — not bodged), lay the hitting strip and turf, position the launch monitor, cable-manage everything, and set up and test the PC and software.
We run a full test session before we consider the job done — every component working, software calibrated, launch monitor reading accurately.
The on-site footprint is the room you're fitting out. We don't need to work elsewhere in the house, and we leave the space clean and tidy. Most customers are slightly surprised by how compact and contained the process is.
Prefer to DIY? That's a valid option too — we supply the kit with full installation instructions and we're on the end of the phone if you hit a question. It's not for everyone, but for confident DIY-ers it saves on install costs.
Training, support, and what happens after
Before we leave, we walk you through everything:
✅ How to start a session — launch the software, set up a player profile, choose a course
✅ How to configure and recalibrate the launch monitor
✅ Software features — shot data, course settings, multiplayer, practice modes
✅ Basic maintenance — cleaning, turf care, what to watch for over time
✅ What to do if something doesn't look right
This usually takes 30–45 minutes and covers everything a first-time owner needs to know. If someone else in the household plays too, it's worth having them there for the handover.
After that, we're still available. Questions in the first few weeks are common and very welcome — just call or email. A service contract is also available if you'd prefer a more formal support arrangement.
See maintenance for a full picture of what to expect over the longer term.
