Golf Simulators in Mayo

Mayo has some of Ireland's most dramatic golf — Carne on the Erris peninsula, Westport with Croagh Patrick on the horizon, Ballina's parkland courses. It also has Atlantic weather that can make outdoor practice genuinely difficult from October through March. We install across the county and we know how to build for the conditions here.

Who we work with in Mayo

Mayo has a particular character for simulator installs: the combination of spectacular golf and genuinely challenging weather makes the indoor practice argument very easy, and the county's self-build tradition means many clients already have the right outbuilding — they just need someone to fit it out properly.

Westport is the county's most popular town and a natural hub for enquiries — the tourism infrastructure there, and the quality of Westport Golf Club, creates demand from both homeowners and hospitality businesses. Castlebar has a solid residential base and a growing professional community. Ballina, further north, has the Belleek Manor crowd — clients who appreciate quality and aren't afraid to invest in it.

We install for:

  • Westport and Castlebar homeowners with garages or garden space for a dedicated room

  • Rural Mayo properties — farmhouses and self-builds with large outbuildings, often with extraordinary views to match

  • Tourism businesses along the Wild Atlantic Way — a simulator bay can extend your season meaningfully

  • Golf clubs and leisure venues wanting an all-weather practice or entertainment option

Space, construction, and investment

Mayo's climate demands a properly built room. An outbuilding that works fine in July can be genuinely unusable in January without proper insulation, heating, and waterproofing — and a simulator that's uncomfortable to use in the winter defeats the purpose. We build west-coast projects with this in mind from the brief stage.

Dimensions: 3m high × 5m wide × 6m long is the target, and most substantial Mayo outbuildings exceed it. If you're planning a new garden room or annex, building to those dimensions costs very little extra but pays back over years of use.

Budget:

  • €8,995 — Sim-in-a-Box: the complete installed bundle — screen, projector, launch monitor, flooring, and software

  • €10,000–€20,000: a fully bespoke room, designed and finished to your brief

For rural Mayo builds, the bespoke route typically makes more sense — the extra investment in insulation, interior boarding, and proper climate control makes the room usable year-round, not just in fine weather. See the pricing page and room design guide for the full picture.

Why Mayo clients work with us

We travel to Mayo regularly, and over the years we've built up a good sense of the county — the building styles, the weather exposure, the kind of clients who are serious about a quality install versus those who want the cheapest option. We're better suited to the former, and we're honest about that.

For Mayo clients specifically:

  • Video consultation first — we assess your space remotely before committing to a site visit, which keeps things efficient for everyone

  • Weather-appropriate construction is a default, not an add-on — every west-coast brief includes it

  • The €50 consultation is redeemable — it comes straight off your invoice if you go ahead

  • We do site visits for bespoke builds, and we plan Mayo trips to coincide with multiple installs in the region

If the Dublin demo centre is an option — Westport is about three hours and many Mayo clients make the trip — it's worth doing before you commit. Most clients say they'd have spent more if they'd seen it sooner.
