Golf Sim Planning Guidelines

From 27th July 2026, the planning exemption for a structure in your back garden – such as a garden room, home office or gym – increased from 25m² to 30m², subject of course to the relevant conditions.

And 30m² is a LOT of space when it comes to a golf simulator.

Your own golf room – without giving up a room in the house

A purpose-built garden room can be an ideal space for a golf simulator. With the right dimensions and ceiling height, 30m² can comfortably give you room for a fantastic simulator setup – and it doesn't have to stop there.

• Home cinema

• Big-screen sport

• Gaming room

• Somewhere to escape with friends

Basically, a room that the whole family can use – although I suspect the golf simulator might get most of the attention!
