You will need the Garmin Golf App (available on iOS and Android) on your smartphone to use the Approach R10, and there is also the option to upgrade to either e6 or The Golf Club (TGC) 2019 software packages.
The Garmin Golf App has some free features as well as a premium subscription option which unlocks Home Tee Hero and 42,000 virtual courses as well as other features. The subscription costs €9.99 per month or €99.99 for the year, and you can sign up for a 30 day free trial to see if the premium package is for you.
Our recommendation is not to buy e6 or TGC straight away, give the 30 day Garmin Premium upgrade a go, and you're extremely likely to be happy enough with that, but you can always buy a TGC or e6 upgrade later on if you want to expand your options.
